Median compensation for newly placed executives is taking a hit in Q4, thanks to lower bonuses. Median OTE is tracking to $430,000, down 5% over Q3 and up 3.9% over Q4 2023. The downward trend applies to all asset classes—except public company hires, which is seeing median compensation rise 11% QoQ. Private companies, meanwhile, have tightened belts the most, with median comp down 13% QoQ. The quarter-over-quarter dip is tracking to be the single largest quarter change to compensation since Q2 2021.
