C-level placements comprised 51% of all new executive placements through the first two months of Q2, the placement share we’ve seen since monitoring this trend. Executive search has trended more top heavy since the market’s peak in late 2021/early 2022, flirting with the 50% mark a few times, but never surpassing it. Estimated closed search volume suggests that Q2 closed searches will be lighter than Q1, but that change would almost exclusively come from far less “Director & Below” levels (projecting a 43% drop QoQ)—with VP to C-Suite placements remaining in line on a quarterly basis.
