Last week, we wrote in this space that Sales leadership roles are up 52% at Series B/C companies in Q1 2024 versus Q3 2023.

The consistent growth maps to a public market sentiment that growth is now worth 3X profits, which explains—in part—the why.

But for how much?

Median Sales leadership OTE rebounded in Q1 from a three-year low in Q4 2023, pulling back in line with the market peak.

The one change, however, was that sales leaders are being asked to earn that OTE a bit more than previously. During market peak, the median OTE split was 55/45 (base/bonus). That figure is now 51/49, the most company-friendly split we’ve seen since Q3 2020, when the market was at peak uncertainty around COVID’s impact.
