VC and PE executive hiring demand dipped in Q4, but public and private held ground. Newly opened searches for executive roles at VC-backed companies fell 9% quarter over quarter in Q4. Demand similarly fell by 14% for executive roles at PE-owned companies in Q4. Private companies posted the strongest growth in executive demand, growing 26% quarter-over-quarter. While newly opened roles were lower again in Q4, compensation for newly hired executives continues its strong growth trend, growing 4% quarter-over-quarter and 12% year-over-year.
