The year has gotten off to a healthy start, and although the economy is showing some signs of slowing down, there are still tons of companies out there looking to bolster their rosters by adding excellent talent. If you’re looking to change careers or just open up some new connections, we have compiled a list of the 10 best conferences remaining throughout 2016, with reasoning of course as to what makes these events the cream of the crop. The 10 best remaining HR & recruiting events this year in our opinion are: RecruitCon 2016 It seems like everything has a Con nowadays, but RecruitCon has some excellent strategies to help build recruiting skills while also providing sessions on using new technology platforms to recruit, building referral programs, and more. The event takes place at Bally’s Las Vegas from May 12-13th, and tops our list as being a “must go” event. HRSouthwest Conference The HRSouthwest Conference has been held for 75 years, making it one of the longest standing HR conferences in the country. This year’s event is going to be huge, with more than 200 companies participating. The event is being held at the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth Texas, and you can register for the event online. Human Resources Management Association If you don’t mind going north of the border, the HRMA trade show is being held from April 26th-27th in beautiful Vancouver, and will feature more than 100 exhibitors as well as some excellent workshops and keynote speakers. Talent Management Alliance Social Recruiting Summit 2016 Running from July 21-22nd in Dallas, Texas, the TMA Social Recruiting Summit will focus on social professional networking, which is a key recruiting focus for younger employees. The event is a bit pricey, but definitely worth every penny for the networking and agenda present. LinkedIn Talent Connect Las Vegas LinkedIn is the preeminent social media site for professionals, and their annual North American event lives up to the billing as being one of the top networking events of the year. This year’s event is being held from October 5th-7th at The Venetian, and the company is currently taking proposals for speaking opportunities. Recruiting Trends Conference Held in November at the Hilton in Austin, Texas, the RTC is offering participants the chance to hone their skills and network. HR Tech Conference Meant for those in the technology industry, the HR Tech Conference will be held from October 4th-7th at McCormick Place in Chicago. There will be dozens of speakers, great workshops, and multiple networking opportunities that are sure to help you get your name out there. Benefits Forum & Expo It is well known that the Baby Boomer generation is going to be a huge sector of society retiring soon, and the senior benefits work sector is going to be expanding rapidly because of it. That is why BFE is a great spot to market yourself and gain some excellent connections to move yourself into a great new position. The event is taking place from September 28th-30th in Nashville at the Omni Nashville Hotel, which is also offering discounted rates for the event. National Workers’ Compensation & Disability Conference There are a record number of people on disability, and the number is growing higher each year. The 25th Annual National Worker’s Compensation and Disability Conference is being held from November 30th- December 2nd at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The conference offers workshops on various industry related topics as well as chances to network with some of the largest companies in this often overlooked industry. ATD International Conference The ATD Conference is geared toward those in training professions, and ends up having more than 10,000 people attend yearly. The event is being held in Denver, and will have big keynote speakers such as author Simon Sinek, Jeremy Gutsche, and Brene Brown. And a bonus conference you should be looking forward to in 2017- The i4cp 2017 Conference The i4cp 2017 conference is held on March 20-23rd, 2017 in Scottsdale, Arizona. The event focuses on best practices in HR currently while also looking ahead at what trends the future holds for the HR community.
